Our next general household sale will be held at the Alnwick Narrowgate Salerooms on Saturday 21st August starting at 10am. Viewing is on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th August from 10am until 6pm.
Again we have rooms crammed full of stuff!
This 'household' auction is really worth viewing, as we have cleared a lot of houses and entered pieces into this sale which in normal cirumstances would have perhaps gone into a catalogue antique sale. There is a lot of good reproduction furniture, including five astragel glazed mahogany cabinets. These would have cost a fortune when originally purchased from Chapmans or Farrs of Alnwick, as the posh furniture shop was called then.
We have also cleared several good houses, including one where the same spinster has lived for 81 years! She moved into the house with her parents when she was one, and has recently gone into sheltered accomodation. So you can imagine what treasure we found there!
We really are in the recycling business, and it is good to be 'green'. You would be amazed at how reasonably some lots go for. And there a many mixed lots of ceramics & glass, aswell as a lot of good clean furniture suitable for someone setting up home.
We also seem to have made a name for ourselves in selling tools, as again we have had a lot of good woodworking tools consigned including a bandsaw, a sawdust extractor, sawbenches and handtools galore!
We also have a few good carpets aswell as a selection of country house sofas, pictures & watercolours ripe for restoration, etc.
All the items will be listed on the website. Just click on the sale date to browse. Or select a category from the catalogue list to view a certain type of item. You don't need to be at the sale to place a bid. We would be happy to accept your commission bids via this website, or via email or phone.
