58Jane Gowland, watercolour, Nor’Easter; two other watercolours; and a Robert Greenhalf coloured numbered signed etching. (4) - : £40-60 (Paintings/Pictures)

142G Weatherill, watercolour, landscape with stream and bridge, signed, mounted and framed. (19.5in x 12.5in) - This is a good example of a Weatherill watercolour, clearly signed and depicting a wooded landscape with foliage. It has a lot of body colour added to foliage around the rocks in foreground. The stream appears to go down a valley beneath an old bridge. It is signed G Weatherill. It is double mounted in a 1960s painted gilt and gesso frame. A good clean Weatherill watercolour. : £800-1200 (Paintings/Pictures)
156EM Holmes, two watercolours of a hare and a duck; together with a print of a hare. (3) - : £20-30 (Paintings/Pictures)

217Mary Fedden RA, lithographic coloured print, basket of lemons, signed, numbered, mounted and gilt framed. (21.75in x 30in) - This is numbered 31/70 and is in good clean condition. It looks as if it is in the original frame. It is titled in felt pen to the backboard ‘Basket of Lemons’ lithograph, Mary Fedden. The frame is flaking and grubby, but the print looks clean. : £300-400 (Paintings/Pictures)
226A print of an 18th century Thames London Bridge; and a large gilt framed landscape print. (2) - : £20-30 (Paintings/Pictures)
229Allan, oil on canvas, nineteenth century river landscape, in gilt and gesso frame. (15.5in x 11.5in) - This oil possibly needs re-lining. It depicts a landscape with two figures in rowing boat by a river, possibly an evening view. It is clearly signed and enclosed in a good quality gilt and gesso frame. The back reveals that it is a Rowney canvas. : £100-150 (Paintings/Pictures)
239A pair of Japanese appliqué figurative studies. (5.75in x 13in) (2) - These look to be Edwardian and are in their original frames – although possibly a bit later. There are framers labels to versos. They have plain mounts with ebonised frames. They are hand painted and are of quilted material – three dimensional in a box mount. One depicts a bearded oriental with clouds issuing from a flask; the other a red kimono and bearded oriental holding a whisk. The condition is good although slightly faded on the cream card ground. : £20-30 (Paintings/Pictures)
243Martin Coppock, oil on canvas, moonlit study of abbey ruins, signed and dated 1887, in gilt frame. (15.5in x 11.5in) - : £70-90 (Paintings/Pictures)
265W J Sams, pencil and bodycolour, ‘New Hartley Pit After the Disaster’, signed, mounted and framed. (15.25in x 10.5in) - This drawing has been in the family for some time, and depicts the original New Hartley mine with three chimneys and mine workings. In the foreground are figures walking round the various ruins with broken timbers, pillars, etc. It is a well executed view, in a mushroom coloured mount and oak frame. We haven’t had it out of the frame to see if there is any inscription to the verso. An interesting piece of North East history. : £40-60 (Paintings/Pictures)
266F Barnard, pencil and watercolour, figure on the gallows, signed and dated 1882, mounted and gilt framed. (13in x 15in) - : £30-40 (Paintings/Pictures)
272Oil on canvas, portrait of a gentleman - three quarter length, signed in gilt frame. (20in x 30in) - : £70-90 (Paintings/Pictures)
289Cavan P Corrigan, oil on board, steam trains, engine with figures, signed and framed. (48in x 23.25in) - This lot came from Durham County Council Schools and Museum Service, as surplus to their requirements. This is a good atmospheric railway picture with railwaymen carrying shovels and hammers and lamps to foreground. The driver is looking down from his cab, and there is a signalman with green flag. The engine number is 46521, and there are circus posters in the background on the fence. A nice evening picture of a steam train about to depart, with smoke billowing from funnel. : £100-150 (Paintings/Pictures)
297Bryon Dawson, watercolour, landscape of Lawton Valley, mounted and framed. (15in x 10.5in) - : £80-120 (Paintings/Pictures)

303A pair of large Victorian coloured steel engravings in maple frames. (2) - The external dimensions are 30.5in x 25in. These maple cushion-moulded frames have gilt slips with original boarded backs. One depicts a mother and child feeding a swan below a classical house and is a hand-coloured engraving. It doesn’t appear to be signed or titled. The other is of a similar genre depicting mother and child on the terrace with dog and cart. The veneers to the frame on this one are lifting slightly and there is minor loss to the maple. : £100-150 (Paintings/Pictures)
306Marin, coloured lithographic print, ‘Cape Split Maine’, mounted and framed. (20.25in x 15.25in) - This lot came from Durham County Council Schools and Museum Service, as surplus to their requirements. This has a New York Graphics Society title beneath the mount, and the original print is signed and dated 1941. It depicts a choppy sea with distant boats. It has a buff coloured mount in a white painted frame. : £30-40 (Paintings/Pictures)
307Three miniature Russian paintings. (3) - These are imported tourist items and consist of landscapes with classical historic buildings. One is dated 1990 to the verso. They are all painted in watercolour, laid down on card and framed. : £10-20 (Paintings/Pictures)
