247The Modern Motor Car - a fold-out coloured engine publication. - A paper bound volume with fold out plates detailing the car’s engine and chasis etc. The cover is by Maurice Beck. The cover is a bit grubby but the plates inside are clean. It is a stapled volume with wear to the edges and spine. : £50-80 (Books)
636Antonin Becvar 1950 Atlas Borealis, the large plates depicting the stars, clothbound, slightly distressed. (25in x 19in); together with a folio leather bound edition of the Commentaries of Ceasar by William Duncan 1753. (2) - The book plates are named to Sir Charles Staveley. It is leather bound with gilt tooling. It is coming away slightly along one edge and the outer board has bent and worn corners. Otherwise it is a good folio book. (11in x 17.5in). : £30-40 (Books)
974Antonin Becvar, two Atlas Eclipticalis and three Atlas Borealis publications. (5) - These are all linen cloth-bound with coloured plates, keys, etc. The Atlas Eclipticalis are portrait shaped, published in 1958 and 1964 and compiled by Antonin Becvar, with coloured plates in bound volumes. This is an excellent study of the stars. The three Atlas Borealis are of landscape shape and also contain coloured plates of the constellations. Some of the plates are a bit grubby and not in the best condition. : £80-120 (Books)
984Snaffles, “Osses and Obstacles”, published by Collins in 1935. - Monochrome cartoon style plates throughout. It is clothbound. It is grubby and a little tired especially to the spine, with some ripping to the cloth and the back boards have some foxing. The images themselves are clean and the stitching to the binding is intact. There is very slight yellowing to the edges. : £30-40 (Books)
