A pair of nineteenth century walnut masonic armchairs. (2) - A pair of nineteenth century walnut masonic armchairs, with arched upholstered backs flanked by square columns, with square carved terminals to arms having elbow pads, above sprung upholstered seats on panelled rails raised on turned and lappet carved legs with brass cappings and casters. (2) These chairs came from a Masonic hall which is why we have catalogued them as such. They are distressed - as the hall had been used as a youth club for some time. They are heavy with square columns. The finials are missing from the backs. Upholstery is tired. The carvings to the arms are bold and good. The turned legs are lappet carved and have the original brass cappings and casters. One of the chairs has an applied carving of a book on the arch to the back. It reads "The Law was Given by oses but Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ." The other bits of carving are missing. Suggest chairs are circa 1870. : £300-500
An 1877 Victorian carved coal desk tidy. (12.25in x 8.75in x 9in) - supported on porcelain knob feet, the piece naively carved with saltire style cross panels with titles "A box for pens", "A ink pot", "A box for envelopes", and "A drawer for note paper", the apron with panel reading "G M Coal 1877". (12.25in x 8.75in x 9in) A Victorian carved coal desk tidy of architectural form, naively carved with two lidded compartments flanking a circular inkwell with pen rest behind, having drawer below This piece of naive folk art came from a vendor in Scotland, and we presume that G M Cole 1877 refers to some mine although we haven't fully researched this. The whole piece is naively carved, almost with a pen knife with diamond panels, crosses and saltaires, there are old repairs here and there but generally the piece is intact, the platform is one piece of coal as is the drawer. The drawer knob looks as if it may have been later? The compartment to the right of the inkwell has a crack to the back of the side wall and the lid has a diagonal repair rather badly done across one corner. The right hand lid is titled "A box for pens". The left hand box has a loose side which hasn't been glued. The top is intact although the finial handle dated 1877 looks as if it has been reglued to the top. This left hand compartment is titled "A box for envelopes". The circular inkwell has the original stopper and is titled "A ink pot". The pen rest behind the ink pot is detached from the stand and has two grooves cut in it for pens. The white porcelain feet could be later although they do exhibit wear. A most unusual genuine piece from 1877. : £800-1200
A late Victorian art nouveau suite. (3) - All the pieces are covered in fawn velour done by the current vendors. It consists of a chaise with stuff-over upholstered back rail supported on slender spindles, with cart rest and channelled rail raised on turned legs. The casters are later. There is a matching armchair and ladies chair with similarly carved back rails and fluted style backs and sprung seats raised on turned legs with later casters. The upholstery is a bit tired, and at some stage they have been 'restored'. : £200-300
A 7.56 carat natural sapphire ring with diamond stepped shoulders. - This is a large (15mm x 11mm) emerald cut sapphire of good blue colour, claw set into an 18k white gold mount, with three stepped sides on the shoulders of the ring, each step set with small round diamonds. 432A set of four late Victorian 'aesthetic' walnut upholstered dining chairs. (4) - These are good quality chairs, with rounded padded backs inlaid with boxwood and ebony stringing and rectangular finials. The padded backs are supported on three spindles. They have padded stuff-over upholstered seats and the bow fronted rails are also inlaid with satinwood banding. The top of the legs are inlaid with flowerhead medallions. They are supported on ring turned tapering legs. The seat rails are impressed with the number B2935, but there is no makers name apparent. They are good quality walnut dining chairs. : £100-150
A modern adjustable seat piano stool. - : £10-20
A Newcastle Pottery eighteenth century creamware plate, made for the European market; and a similarly transfer printed leaf moulded plate. (2) - The creamware plate is 6.75in diameter with the back clearly struck with rectangular Newcastle mark, and impressed number 9. It is in perfect condition apart from kiln/firing imperfections. It is decorated with a mill scene titled 'Der Saer'. The black transfer print is hand-painted in colours with green, blue, yellow and brown glazes. Beneath the mill scene reads 'Geschenck der Freundschaft'. The border is hand-painted with alternating green and brick red floral designs with similar orange line to rim. The smaller plate is 6.5in diameter and it is not marked apart from a painted monogram on the back. It is also in perfect condition apart from firing imperfections. It has a foliate relief moulded rim with scrolling decorated in polychrome enamels with brown scalloped rim. The face of the plate is transfer printed with a very similar mill scene. Above the building is the title 'Die Muhle', below the mill scene is the title 'Fin Geschenk Fur Meinen Sohn.' There is very slight scratching to the surface of the transfer. We presume both these pieces were made for the export market. : £100-150
A nineteenth century ebonised cabinet on stand. (23.75in x 16in x 46.25in) * Formerly at Ickworth House, the property of the Marquis of Bath. - Ebonised cabinet on stand with panelled doors enclosing an interior with small drawers around an architectural style door with broken pediment and barleytwist columns, above a niche with silver plated figure of Bacchus, the door enclosing further small drawers with secret drawer plinth, the later ebonised stand on square tapering legs. Some of the veneers are missing, and a bit marked with punches. Doors are cracked, but there is a good interior. The stand is definitely later, and appears to be pine. The sides are also cracked. Some of the veneers are missing. * Formerly at Ickworth House, the property of the Marquis of Bath : £600-800
A Bulpanti, oil on board, still life with vases, jug and fruit, signed and framed. - : £10-20

Nineteenth century oil on board, English school, three-quarter length portrait of a young gentleman, in later Hogarth frame. (12.75in x 15in) - This gentleman has a good Roman nose with blue eyes and is painted on a composition board. It is scratched and needs restoring, but would suggest the genuine article circa 1870. It is well painted small portrait and there could be some sort of signature in the dark area round his shoulders. There is some loss of paint and the corners have been cracked. : £60-80
Three collectors bears. (3) - There is a Deans black bear with grey pads, Deans Rag Book label sewn to foot and original paper labels as well as label to seam. He is named Oscar and is 17in tall. It has a growler. There is another black bear without a label but bean filled, with shaved snout, black astrakhan style pads wearing blue ribbon to neck. He is 14.5in tall. The third bear is by Sindie Smith and titled And Finally with English mohair long plush beige coat and brown felt pads and black button eyes with a canvas cloth label to seam. : £80-120
A pair of hallmarked silver mounted cranberry glass vases with ribbed decoration. (2) - : £20-30
A teak desk with drawers to the side. - : £20-30
A nineteenth century oak side table. (27in x 13in x 24.75in) - This has a rectangular moulded top above a reeded frieze drawer mounted with a brass drop handle. It is raised on turned tapering column legs that have been reduced. It is a good garnet colour. The handle is a replacement and it is oak lined. It could possibly have been a washstand at some stage in its life, as it is drilled to the side as if it might have had a towel rail. : £20-30
A pair of Royal Doulton art nouveau vases. (7.5in) - These art nouveau vases have flared bodies decorated in a dark green glaze, beneath friezes of stylised fruit in sombre yellow colours with brown outlining.
