The Modern Motor Car - a fold-out coloured engine publication. - A paper bound volume with fold out plates detailing the car's engine and chasis etc. The cover is by Maurice Beck. The cover is a bit grubby but the plates inside are clean. It is a stapled volume with wear to the edges and spine. : £50-80
An iron bench decorated with floral designs to castings, with wood slats and scrolled arms. (50in) - : £40-60
An Edwardian oak kneehole desk. (60in x 34in x 31in) - This is a good early twentieth century kneehole desk with a panelled top supported on pedestals, each containing four fielded panel drawers mounted with gadroon carved handles. The desk also has slides and a frieze drawer with a bramah style lock above a shaped apron. The pedestals are supported on rounded plinths with casters. The pedestal sides are also field panelled and the finish is entirely original. It is generally scuffed and could do with repolishing, but it is a good clean kneehole desk. : £200-300

An oak dining table with spare leaf, having rounded ends on square tapering column legs. - : £80-120

A cold painted Spelter camel lighter. (7in) - : £30-40
A circular reproduction mahogany occasional table. (17in) - This has a circular shell medallion patera to the top with castellated rim supported on gadrooned turned carved column with splayed legs. The sides to the top of the table are distressed with pieces missing, and it is generally not in the best of condition. I would suggest this is circa 1900. : £20-30
A set of seven multicoloured stacking childrens chairs. (7) - : £20-30
A pair of Victorian Rockingham style hand-painted sauce tureens on stands. (6) - These are fine pieces of porcelain. Each is decorated overall with salmon pink friezes and scrolled gilding. They have scalloped bodies. The tureens have acanthus moulded handles and hand-painted numbers - 508 underneath, and the lids have openings to take a ladle. Apart from minor rubbing, they appear to be perfect. The two plate that go with them are of a similar scalloped scroll form. One is hand-painted with Scarborough Castle, and the other Rochester Castle. They are titled in brick red underneath. The landscape view of Rochester depicts the castle with trees to foreground, and doesn't appear to be signed. The Scarborough Castle view has a sailing boat in choppy seas beyond the quayside, with the castle on cliffs in background. : £100-150

An ebonised aesthetic Victorian side table. (18.5in x 16.5in x 26.25in) - This piece is stained and fairly distressed, but it is in the aesthetic taste. There are slight traces of woodworm to the top. It sits on ring-turned column legs with traces of gilding to the rings. The stretchers are similarly made of ring-turned columns, having central rectangular chamferred batons with grooves in the sides, possibly to take an upright decorative panel? It stands on baluster turned legs with small bun feet - no signs of casters. : £30-40

In the foreground are figures walking round the various ruins with broken timbers, pillars, etc. It is a well executed view, in a mushroom coloured mount and oak frame. We haven't had it out of the frame to see if there is any inscription to the verso. An interesting piece of North East history. : £40-60

A rectangular Victorian silver purse; a hallmarked silver vesta; and a silver mother-of-pearl handled pen knife. It is well engraved with foliate scrolling with circular vacant cartouche to one side. The corners are set with bands of gilt metal and is in very good condition. Makers name is GS*FS. The vesta has a striking groove to the base and is similarly engraved. The maker looks to be RB. The pen knife is Sheffield S8 and is in perfect condition. : £40-60

(17.5in x 14.75in x 37.5in) : £500-700
A set of six oak upholstered dining chairs. (6) - A set of upholstered oak dining chairs, five singles and one carver, with later fabric covering on brass studded leather, having sprung upholstered seats raised on baluster turned legs joined by rectangular stretchers, the elbow chair with crook arms. (6) These are good solid dining chairs obviously with later covering upholstery. They have square padded backs upholstered above shaped aprons with stuff over upholstered seats on baluster turned legs joined by rectangular stretchers. The colour of the oak is good and I would suggest that they are circa 1900. They have sprung seats and webbing. They include a nice carver with crook shaped arms of excellent worn colour. The upholstery is not to everyone's taste. The stretchers are scuffed and worn as one would expect but structurally sound. Obviously these were leather upholstered previously as one can see from underneath and the current upholstery just covers the leather so presumably the leather is torn which is why they were recovered in this red material. The brass studding has been left and the gimp is on the inside of the lines of brass studding. So presumably some of the leather could be intact but we haven't pealed all the bits off. : £100-150
A late nineteenth century octagonal occasional table. (32in x 25.5in) - This "threepenny bit" table has been refinished. It has an octagonal moulded top supported on plain frieze with ring turned tapering legs joined by rectangular stretchers. At some stage it has been revarnished and possibly reduced in height. : £30-40

There is one bound in rush with yellow scrolled panels. There is a blue and white example decorated with blossom foliage. All have brick red Made in China marks or character marks, apart from the stoneware ones. : £20-30
A set of four late Victorian dining chairs. (4) - These have shell carved backs above bobbin turned spindles with reeded rails and stiles. They have sprung upholstered seats raised on turned legs. The seats all need re-upholstering, but the chairs are basically sound. : £40-60
Cavan P Corrigan, oil on board, steam trains, engine with figures, signed and framed. (48in x 23.25in) - This lot came from Durham County Council Schools and Museum Service, as surplus to their requirements. This is a good atmospheric railway picture with railwaymen carrying shovels and hammers and lamps to foreground. The driver is looking down from his cab, and there is a signalman with green flag. The engine number is 46521, and ther
